Augmented jewel demonstration uses VTT’s Flash Technology and ALVAR mobile library. This demo is a virtual mirror -type of application using a web cam. To test out the application, print the following marker and cut it as advised. Use some weak adhesive (e.g. blue tack) to place it on your neck. In the application this marker is replaced in the webcam video image with a virtual jewel. You can change the virtual jewel by clicking it with your mouse. Jewels used in the demonstration are borrowed from Helmihattu (www.helmihattu.fi). For the handmade pearl jewels no 3D models exist, therefore the jewels are presented here as 2D images. Application needs Adobe FlashPlayer and a webcam.
