Project results

The objective of the season application is to develop a system for fall colour, snow coverage, and spring foliation monitoring from satellite. The purpose is to provide a free-of-charge WWW service for public use.

The end-users of the season application service will be travellers, hikers or e.g. people planning vacation. The service will provide these users with up-to-date information of the landscape seasonal state on a daily basis.

The season application uses satellite images for monitoring tourist season related phenomena like fall coloring.

The season change monitoring web application displays season maps over Finland for the specified range of dates.
