FAMILIES -
FAct-based Maturity through Institutionalization Lessons-learned and Involved Exploration of System-family

VTT's contribution in the FAMILIES (ITEA/Eureka) project will be on the product family architectures. We will develop methods and techniques for:

  • model-driven family architecture design, and

  • quality analysis of family architectures.

Our work in model-driven family architecture design aims at developing model transformation techniques for quality variation. In quality analysis, we will develop analysis techniques and methods for execution and evolution qualities, such as reliability and integrability.

The methods to be developed will be building blocks of our QADA®[1] method that has been applied in several industrial applications, for example, in the development of pervasive middleware services, wireless services, and in the product families of fare collection software, control simulators and network analysers.

The QADA® method is especially suitable for the development of service architectures of networked systems families.
