Short Term Scientific Missions

The Applicant must use the on-line registration tool to register their request for an STSM. The following information has to be encoded with the registration:

• Applicant’s title, name, work place, postal address, telephone and fax numbers, and email address

• Name, postal address, telephone, fax and email of the prospective host at the receiving institute

• The planned dates and length of stay

• The title of the planned STSM

• A short description of the proposed work plan (about 250 words)

• A short curriculum vitae

• A budget request with breakdown for the costs of the STSM

• Bank details

The on-line STSM application form to register the request for a STSM can be found at http://www.cost.esf.org/stsm. The candidate has to click on the menu to select our cost action (928). The guidelines can be downloaded from the site.

We are now looking for applications for STSM fellowships from COST 928. Applicants should submit their full applications by the following deadlines. Incomplete applications will result in delay or missed opportunities.

• Call 1 for STSM fellowships over period September - November 2008
  (deadline: 18 July 2008)

• Call 2 for STSM fellowships over December 2008 - February 2009
  (deadline: 24 October 2008)

• Call 3 for STSM fellowships over March - May 2009
  (deadline: 31 January 2009)

• Call 4 for STSM fellowships over June - August 2008
  (deadline: 2 May 2008)

• Call 5 for STSM fellowships over September - December 2008
  (deadline: 1 Aug 2008)

The application will then be assessed by the Management Group of COST 928 wheerafter recommendation is sent to the COST Office, who will then send out the formal letters.
